It's Frugal Friday over at http://www.lifeasmom.com/.
If we are frugal, we probably all wash and resuse plastic baggies.
Very simply, I wash and reuse straws that I buy and those from drinks we may get at fast food restaurants. This cuts down considerably on how often I have to buy them. (We simply prefer to drink from straws.)
I have to admit, I do not wash and reuse baggies. I will wash and reuse a large ziploc if it held bread or something not too "germy" like a meat product. However, I always throw the fast-food straws into the dishwasher and we use those for a long time!

The dishwasher! I never thought of doing that. My kids often prefer to drink from a straw. And smoothies are just better with straws. Oh I'm glad you posted this idea. I will be doing this for sure.
ReplyDeleteI should have stipulated that I do NOT reuse baggies that held meat or blueberries/strawberries.
ReplyDeleteI was everything and reuse it. Bought a pack of straws about 8 years ago and still have 90% of them. I'm not big on plastic.
