Cats on Tuesday: Minnie

Cats on Tuesday are cat lovers who post about their feline babies, once a week on Tuesday.

Mother, it is about time you cleaned out *my* sink. Don't even think about putting any more junk in *my* space.

Ah, very nice throne for looking down on Miles.

Miles, you know you are too fat to jump up here---not to mention too old!

Ah, this is the life! A human at my beck and call. I may have been in that shelter for 3 months, but I was waiting for *this* home.

Recently I cleared off my extra sink in my bathroom. Minne has a habit of liking to sit and watch (help) me put on my make-up in the morning. She's so feminine. Anyway, recently she got tired and decided to take a break in the sink. I once had a long-haired cat who loved baths and blow-drying, but I sense Minnie is not such a cat. She's just chillin'.

Show and Tell Friday: Dolls from France

My father retired from the Air Force in August of 1967--right before I entered kindergarten. I suppose because he travelled while in the service, he recognized the value of doing so. I have been lucky enough to go to France twice in my life---once in 9th grade and once as a freshman in college. The second time I went we toured through France, including Aix-en-Provence. This is where these dolls came from. They are handmade. (*I loved French so much that it was my second major in college, along with English. I may never go again, but I cherish those memories and pictures.)

Thankful Thursday

Today is thankful Thursday for me. Here is what I'm thankful for:
  1. Fall is coming (sooner or later)
  2. Great co-workers
  3. A really nice coffee shop downtown for emergency espressos on Monday mornings
  4. Electricity!
  5. A son who mowed my backyard the other night

Don't EE-VEEEN suggest I am playing hide-and-seek. I am merely seeing if this comforter will keep Mother warm.

Let me check it out a few more minutes..................

I believe she will be warm enough. Just give me another few minutes to make sure.

I would like to place an order please.

Everyone notice how adorable I am~

I would like ketchup on my spicy black bean burger, please. Hold the mustard.

Is it time to pack our bags?

Show and Tell Friday: Handmade Goody

I recently cat-sat for a colleague of mine who went on vacation. In return, her mother made me this beautiful table runner. Isn't it lovely? I just love homemade items, and her mother is a quilter.

Thankful Thursday

It's Thursday, so it's time to reflect on what I am thankful for~~
  • The UPS man bringing my Gevalia coffee
  • Actually having my planning time for planning at work
  • God's gift of a good group of kids this year (mostly mine from last year!)
  • A reliable, paid-off Toyota!
  • A helpful son who put away the dishes for me

Cats on Tuesday

That dang Minnie------Mother should have left her at the shelter. She tortures me! I hid under here in Mom's closet to get away.
Oh, no! I hear that darned bell of hers jingling. That means she's coming.

Uh, Miles is such a wimp! He makes it so easy for sissy and me to torture him! He thinks I won't notice him cowering under that chest.

Most of the time, Minnie and Miles get along fine. There are occasions, however, when the Alpha cat in her comes out. *Notice the "deliberate" look in her eye. Back in February when I went to the shelter to adopt her and Snowflake, the cat-lady there warned me that researchers believe there are Alpha cats just like Alpha dogs and that Minnie was one. How correct she was; Minnie runs the house!

Here's the link to Mr. Linky if you want to add your cat tale: **Mr. Linky is not working for me.

School ,Cats, and The Dog

So today (Monday) I am officially back at work for the new school year. I already have my Cats on Tuesday post ready to post tonight. Snowflake will be the star of the show. In the meantime, the second-class citizen, The Dog, a.k.a, Buddy, is feeling left out. So, here are some shots of Buddy. He is NOT supposed to be on the couch without his blankie spread out!
